As per the title of February 10, 2022 Heart Of The Rockies Radio website article, “Salida High School Principal Trujillo Arrested for Tampering with Physical Evidence”, Principal Trujillo appears to have strayed even further away from following established law and order by tampering with physical evidence. Perhaps this is what happens when public school officials become obsessed with touchy-feely restorative justice and attempt to ignore law and order. While under the supervision – not ownership – of the school personnel and when our children are within a school building, our children’s physical body/life protection must be the TOP priority. The high school principal is the head supervisor of the high school body of students, teachers, and other staff. For the sake of in-building safety and continuity, it is imperative that the lead decision-maker/administrator at the high school steadfastly maintains his or her in-building post during situations of outside threats. Our local law enforcement agencies are the professionals when it comes to threats of potential death or physical body injury. Our community is very fortunate that bad decisions made by Principal Trujillo did not lead to physical harm to any Salida High School students or staff.
